Exploring the entire island by bike is a favorite thing to do for many visitors to Jekyll Island. Bring your own bicycles, or rent bikes next door at Kennedy Outfitters. Rentals are also available for skim boards, body boards, paddleboards and kayaks. Whatever method you choose, you are sure to experience beautiful scenery, historic landmarks and the natural ecosystem comprised of birds, alligators, turtles and more.

Georgia Sea Turtle Center
The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is an advanced hospital but open to the general public, offering an interactive Exhibit Gallery and Rehabilitation Pavilion with a many sea turtle patients regularly on view for guests. Additionally, indoor and outdoor educational programs are available year-round for guests of all ages.
Great Dunes Park
This 20 acre portion of beachfront park features several picnic pavilions, a deck for beach events, play areas, public beach access, biking paths, and bocce ball and volleyball courts.
Famed as a location for the popular Civil War film “Glory,” this portion of Jekyll beach is located near the Jekyll Island Soccer Complex. Along the Glory Boardwalk once walked some of Hollywood’s biggest stars including Denzel Washington.
Located on the north end of Jekyll Island, Driftwood Beach features beautiful driftwood and amazing ocean views. Multiple beach access points along North Beachview Drive provide access to this popular picture spot.
Fishing & Boating
Whether deep at sea, at a dock or on Island shores, Jekyll has plenty of fishing opportunities for ambitious anglers. Jekyll Wharf Marina, Jekyll Harbor Marina, Offshore Charters, Coastal Expeditions Charter Fishing, and Golden Isles Charter Fishing are great fishing options on the island. Summer Waves Water Park
With 11 acres of fun and frenzy, there is something for everyone. Take a ride down one of the six exciting slides, cool off in the lazy river, splash in the wave pool, and enjoy the kiddie area for smaller swimmers. Summer Waves Water Park is open May-September.
Golf & Tennis
There are many golf and tennis options on Jekyll Island. The Jekyll Island Tennis Center is a popular tennis facility on the island, offering 13 clay courts to play on and is just a 5 minute drive from The Westin Jekyll Island. There are also three 18-hole golf courses on Jekyll Island including the Jekyll Island Golf Club, as well as the 9-hole Great Dunes. The Jekyll Island Golf Club is a short 4 minute drive from the hotel.
